Twitter wishes Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri a very Happy Birthday
Bengaluru, Oct 2: Gandhi Jayanati is celebrated all across the country on Oct 2. It's the birthday of Mahatma Gandhi. But many may not know that Oct 2 is Lal Bahadur Shastri's birthday as well.
Shastri was the second prime minister of the country and he was in office from June 9, 1964 to Jan 11, 1966.

Lal Bahadur Shastri was the first person to be posthumously awarded the Bharat Ratna. A memorial "Vijay Ghat", a memorial has been built for him in the national capital, New Delhi.
The nation remembered the two legends of the country -- Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri on their 146th and 111th birth anniversaries respectively.
Micro-blogging site Twitter has been flooded with wishes and messages on Gandhiji and Shastriji. #LalBahadurShastri and #GandhiJayanti have been trending on Twitter since Friday morning.
