Twist To Mumbai Murder Story: The Accused and Victim Were Husband And Wife
In a twist to the Mira Road murder case, the murder accused Manoj Ramesh Sane and the victim Saraswati Vaidya were husband and wife. This has come to light during the investigation.
DCP Jayant Bajbale on Friday said that they had married, but hid it because of their age difference. While Sane is aged 56, his wife was 32.

"32-year-old woman, Saraswati Vaidya killed by 56-year-old live-in partner Manoj Sane |..." During the investigation, we have found out that the victim and accused were married and they had informed this to the victim's sisters also, they hid this from the others because of their age difference," ANI quoted DCP Jayant Bajbale in a tweet.
Till now, it was reported that they were live-in partners.
However, they had been in a relationship for over nine years. Despite having sisters, Vaidya was at an orphanage. Interestingly, she had not told the truth to the orphanage when she decided to move with him. "She told us that her uncle stays in Mumbai, and I stay with him. She told us that the man is a clothes merchant and is extremely rich," NDTV quoted Anu Salve as saying. Vaidya had last visited the orphanage two years ago and she looked unhappy.
Manoj San was unmarried and owned a house in Borivali, Mumbai, where a few of his family members reside. However, he has been living separately from his family. Sane was employed at a grocery store located in Borivali. According to the police, the victim frequently visited the shop where Sane worked, according to the report.
Their bond strengthened in 2014, and in 2016, they made the decision to live together in 2016. They moved to the Mira Road flat three years ago.
However, her neighbours do not know much about their relationship.
On the other hand, the murder accused has claimed that they did not have a physical relationship as he is HIV positive.
Manoj Ramesh Sane has also claimed that he did not kill her and Vaidya died by suicide on June 3. When he came home he saw her body lying on the floor. "He checked her pulse and found her dead. Fearing action against him, Sane decided to get rid of the body," a senior officer told Indian Express.
The 56-year-old man is accused of killing his live-in partner and chopping and boiling her body parts at his flat in the Geeta Nagar area of Mira Road, near Mumbai. He was sent to police custody till June 16 by a court on Thursday as gory details emerged about the horrific crime during the investigation, evoking memories of the last year's Shraddha Walkar case.
He has also claimed that she was prepping up to write Class 10 SSC exams and he was teaching maths subject to her.
