Truck carrying medicines, chemicals catches fire

Hisar (Har), Oct 17: A truck carrying medicines and chemicals caught fire near Hisar Cantonment area disrupting traffic for nearly 90 minutes on the Hisar-Delhi national highway, police said today.

The goods, estimated to be worth several lakh of rupees, were destroyed in the fire which occurred last evening, police said. The truck driver fled from the scene, they said, adding the cause of the blaze is still unknown.

It took an hour for seven fire tenders to extinguish the blaze, during which four firemen sustained burn injuries.
