Travel Firm Manager Shot in Hyderabad by Suspected Gang Member Linked to Murder

A travel agency manager in Hyderabad was shot and injured on Thursday by an unidentified individual. The suspect is believed to be part of a gang involved in a recent murder in Karnataka, according to police reports. The incident unfolded when two individuals, after booking bus tickets, were in a shuttle mini-bus heading to Raipur.

When the manager became suspicious of their behaviour, he requested to inspect their bags. One of the passengers then shot at him before fleeing. A senior police official stated that these individuals are suspected armed robbers linked to a murder in Bidar district, Karnataka. The investigation is ongoing.

Police Investigation and Witness Accounts

Interestingly, two Karnataka police constables were also on the same mini-bus en route to Raipur but were unaware of the suspects' identities. A relative of the travel agency owner mentioned that the suspects booked their tickets at the Afzalgunj office around 3 pm. They were supposed to board the main bus bound for Raipur.

The manager refused a cash bribe offered by one suspect and insisted on inspecting their bags. This led to one suspect firing two shots at him. The suspects then fled towards a state-run hospital. The injured manager was taken to a private hospital for treatment.

Details of the Robbery in Karnataka

The suspects are linked to a robbery where armed robbers killed a security guard and injured another person in Bidar, Karnataka. They escaped with Rs 93 lakh meant for an SBI ATM. The robbery occurred at Shivaji Chowk around 11:30 am, with eight rounds fired during the crime.

Following this incident, police quickly responded by barricading nearby roads and forming teams to apprehend the culprits. The shooting at the travel agency happened around 6:30 pm, as per police reports.

Efforts to Capture Suspects

The two unidentified individuals booked bus tickets from Hyderabad to Raipur. After shooting the manager, they fled with their bags. Police have formed teams to capture them. The manager sustained minor injuries and is receiving treatment at a hospital where his condition is stable.

The investigation continues as authorities work diligently to apprehend those responsible for these crimes across state lines.
