Transforming Haryana: How BJP's Governance Eradicated Corruption And Championed Merit

A decade ago, the BJP government assumed power in Haryana with the motto "Haryana Ek, Haryanvi Ek". Their aim was to establish "good governance through systemic change". Over ten years, they have built a robust governance structure on this foundation.

Today, discussing the BJP's two terms in Haryana is incomplete without mentioning their success in eliminating the infamous "Perchi-Kharchi system". This system's eradication has restored trust and self-respect among Haryanvis, improving the state's image and enhancing citizens' reputation.

Haryana

Currently, every family in Haryana, regardless of their location, believes that merit is the sole criterion for school admissions and government jobs. Recommendations and bribes no longer influence these processes.

The Haryana government has strictly enforced its principle of "no expense, no slip", benefiting the most disadvantaged sections of society. Young people from poor and exploited families can now achieve their long-held dreams of securing government jobs.

Previously, government jobs in Haryana were often auctioned off to those with connections to leaders and officials. The interview process was merely a formality, with outcomes predetermined.

The old "Kharchi-Perchi" system was notorious for issuing recruitment lists from leaders' offices, leaving eligible candidates helpless. Poor families were the worst affected, finding it nearly impossible to secure government jobs. Today, recruitment lists are issued without this corrupt system, bringing joy to many households.

Now, children of labourers and rickshaw drivers are securing government jobs. Reports highlight how a labourer's daughter or a farmer's son achieved these positions based on merit. This shift fills the hearts of common people in Haryana with pride.

Mission Merit: A Transparent System
A decade ago, the BJP initiated "Mission Merit" to introduce transparency in government job recruitment. This system has become an example for other states. A notable report from Risalia Kheda village in Sirsa district highlighted 35 young people securing government jobs, showcasing the government's clear intentions and honest policies.

The people of Haryana recall a time when newspapers listed which leaders' relatives secured government jobs. Today, media reports focus on how children from humble backgrounds achieved these positions through merit.

The transformation over the past decade under the BJP's governance has been significant. The eradication of corrupt practices like the "Perchi-Kharchi system" has restored faith in the state's governance. The emphasis on merit has opened doors for many disadvantaged families, ensuring a fairer system for all.
