Total Blackout Enforced in Gujarat's Kutch and Banaskantha Districts Amid Rising Tensions with Pakistan

Officials reported that several areas in Gujarat's Kutch and Banaskantha districts experienced a total blackout on Thursday. This measure was taken due to rising tensions between India and Pakistan. Both districts share borders with Pakistan, prompting authorities to enforce blackouts in towns like Bhuj, Nalia, Nakhatrana, and Gandhidham in Kutch.

Blackout in Gujarats Kutch and Banaskantha Districts

Similarly, several villages in the Suigam taluka of Banaskantha district also experienced blackouts. These actions were precautionary to prevent any potential aggressive moves from Pakistan. The situation arose after Indian armed forces conducted missile strikes on Wednesday targeting nine terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

Drone Wreckage Discovery

Earlier on Thursday, remnants of a drone-like object were discovered near Khavda village in Kutch district. This location is close to the India-Pakistan border. However, there is no clear information about the drone's origin or whether it was shot down or damaged by hitting a power line.

The wreckage site is approximately 20 km from the Indo-Pak border. The discovery added to the tension following India's military actions against terror bases in Pakistan and PoK. These strikes targeted locations such as Jaish-e-Mohammad's stronghold in Bahawalpur and Lashkar-e-Taiba's base in Muridke.

Escalating Tensions

The Indian military's actions were a response to a terror attack in Pahalgam. This led to heightened security measures along the border regions of Gujarat. The blackout was part of these measures aimed at ensuring safety and preventing any hostile actions from across the border.

The situation remains tense as both nations navigate the aftermath of these military engagements. Authorities continue to monitor developments closely to ensure the safety of residents in these border areas.

In light of these events, officials are maintaining vigilance along the border districts. The blackout serves as a precautionary step amidst ongoing tensions between India and Pakistan.
