Army raising new units to tackle cyber warfare unleashed by China, Pak
The Indian Army has operationalised new specialist units to counter threats by China and Pakistan under its cyber warfare initiatives. The decision was taken during the Army Commanders Conference that was held in the third week of April, which was headed by Army Chief General Manor Pande.
The decision was taken by the Army to safeguard communication networks and also increase preparedness levels in this domains. In the event of the same it was decided to raise the Command Cyber Operations and Support Wings. The decision is an important one as the cyberspace has emerged as top threat in international warfare.

The domain has over the years become much more challenging with India's adversaries making the cyber domain more competitive. The Indian Army had taken a decision to make itself more competitive on this domain.
These organisations will assist the formations and also undertake the cyber security functions to strengthen the cyber security posture of the Indian Army.
The Indian Army has over the years dealt with several issues on the cyber space. One such issue was relating to honey-trapping. There is also the issue of hacking into important websites relating to the government and Indian Army.
The Army had spoken about a three front war which it would have to deal with in future. This included the Chinese and Pakistan aggression as well as the battle on the cyber front.
While India has been kept busy along the Line of Control watching out for possible infiltrations from Pakistan, on the China border along the Line of Actual Control, it has been engaged in a tense stand-off for over two years now.
