TMC MP Derek O'Brien Suspended From Rajya Sabha For Unruly Behavior
Derek O'Brien, a TMC MP in Rajya Sabha, has been suspended for the remaining duration of the ongoing Monsoon session of Parliament due to his "unruly behavior that does not befit a Member of Rajya Sabha."
Piyush Goyal, the Leader of the House, presented a motion for his suspension based on the grounds of his consistent disruption of the House proceedings, defiance of the Chair's instructions, and persistent disturbance in the House.

What Led To Derek O'Brien's Suspension From Rajya Sabha?
Derek O'Brien's raising of a point of order regarding the Manipur discussion resulted in his suspension from the session.
O'Brien's suspension comes shortly after a heated exchange between Dhankhar and the Trinamool Congress MP within the Upper House of Parliament. The chairman had accused O'Brien of frequently resorting to "theatrics," prompting a forceful objection from O'Brien. He asserted that he was referencing the House's rules and urging for a substantive discussion on the Manipur matter.
The confrontation unfolded as Dhankhar was addressing fellow House members, emphasizing that the persistent disruptions in the House failed to command respect from the public. Additionally, he mentioned how he had been receiving feedback from various sources, expressing a "disturbing concern" over the House's current state of affairs.
