TTD Trust Board Takes Key Decisions: Temple in Colombo, Simplified Bhagavad Gita, Aarogyasri Expansion

The TTD Trust Board, led by Chairman B Karunakara Reddy, approved the construction of a Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Puttalam, Colombo, at the request of Sundar Lingam, president of Sri Mayurapati Bhadrakali Amman Temple Trust. Additionally, the board sanctioned funds to print simplified copies of the Bhagavad Gita in multiple languages to promote moral values in children. Furthermore, Sri Padmavati General Hospital will offer cashless treatment to Aarogyasri cardholders for common ailments from March 1st.

The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Trust Board convened a meeting on Monday, chaired by TTD Chairman B Karunakara Reddy, and made several crucial decisions that will impact religious and healthcare services. The board approved the construction of a Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Puttalam district, Colombo, Sri Lanka, in response to a request from Sundar Lingam, President of Sri Mayurapati Bhadrakali Amman Temple Trust.

Sri Venkateswara Swamy Temple in Colombo

The TTD Trust Board agreed to support the construction of the Sri Venkateswara Swamy temple in Puttalam district, Colombo, and also decided to organize Srivari Kalyanam upon request. This initiative aims to strengthen the religious ties between India and Sri Lanka and provide a sacred space for devotees in the region.

Simplified Bhagavad Gita Printing

In an effort to promote moral values among children, the board sanctioned Rs 4 crore for printing 98 lakh copies of Bhagavad Gita with simplified translations in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Hindi, and English languages. These simplified versions will make the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita more accessible and understandable to young readers.

Aarogyasri Extension at Sri Padmavati General Hospital

To enhance healthcare services for the local community, Sri Padmavati General Hospital, affiliated with Sri Venkateswara Institute of Medical Sciences (SVIMS), will extend cashless medical treatment to patients holding Aarogyasri health cards from March 1. This initiative will cover common diseases such as fever, vomiting, and diarrhea, as well as super specialty medical procedures.

Observance of Tirupati Town's Birthday

The board decided to officially recognize and celebrate the birthday of Tirupati town every February 24. This event will be included in the TTD calendar, highlighting the historical and cultural significance of the town.

New Gold-Plated Doors for Srivari Temple

Based on the suggestions of temple priests and with the permission of Sri Sri Pedda Jiyar Swamy, the board approved the installation of new gold-plated doors, Jaya-Vijaya, at the Srivari temple at a cost of Rs 1.69 crore. These doors will replace the worn-out old doors, enhancing the grandeur and sanctity of the temple.

Implementation of Suggestions from Sanatana Dharmika Sadas

The board also considered and approved various suggestions offered by pontiffs from across the country during the recent Sanatana Dharmika Sadas. These suggestions aim to improve the religious and spiritual experiences of devotees.

Construction of Permanent Yagashala

To facilitate the convenience of devotees, the board approved the construction of a permanent Yagashala from Srivani Trust at a cost of Rs 4 crore. This Yagashala will be dedicated to Sri Srinivasa Divyanugraha Homam.

Removal of Honorary Chief Priest

The board resolved to remove the honorary chief priest for allegedly making baseless accusations against TTD officials, seers, priests, and Ahobila Mutt.
