Three Family Members Injured in Knife Attack Following Marital Dispute in Delhi's Alipur

A knife attack in Delhi's Alipur resulted in injuries to three family members during a domestic dispute. Tensions escalated after a couple's ongoing issues led to violence involving relatives.

A man and two family members were injured in a knife attack by his brothers-in-law in Alipur, Delhi, on Saturday, according to police. The victims are Fariyad, aged 62, and his sons Sabir, 40, and Imran, 36. The incident stemmed from a domestic dispute involving Imran and his wife Nagma.

For about a month, Imran and Nagma had been experiencing marital issues. Nagma left their home with their children and moved to her maternal home. Recently, Imran brought their daughter back from Nagma's residence, escalating tensions between the families, said Deputy Commissioner of Police Outernorth Hareshwar Swami.

Family Dispute Escalates

On Saturday, Nagma visited Imran's house with some relatives. A heated argument ensued during the visit. During this altercation, Nagma's cousin Abdul Rehman and others allegedly attacked Imran, his father Fariyad, and his brother Sabir with a knife, according to the DCP.

Police received an emergency call that evening from one of the victims stating, "Mere pet me chaku maar diya hai," which translates to "I have been stabbed in the stomach." A police team was dispatched immediately but found that the injured had already been taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Medical Treatment and Investigation

Sabir and Fariyad were admitted to Satyawadi Raja Harishchandra Hospital in Narela. Meanwhile, Imran was taken to LNJP Hospital for medical care. Based on Fariyad's statement, medical reports, and other evidence collected at the scene, police registered a case against the accused.

The condition of all three injured individuals is reported as stable. Efforts are ongoing to apprehend those responsible for the attack. DCP Swami confirmed that further investigation into the incident is underway.
