Love Jihad: Three-day transit remand for shooter Tara's husband

New Delhi, Aug 27: A court on Wednesday granted Jharkhand Police three-day transit remand of national-level shooter Tara Shahdeo's husband, who has been accused of beating her and forcing to convert to Islam after their marriage in July.

Ranjeet Singh Kohli alias Rakibul Hasan Khan, 30, was arrested Tuesday and produced before a court here Wednesday.

During the in-camera proceeding, the court granted Jharkhand Police three-day transit remand of Kohli and his mother.

Kohli was arrested Tuesday night from near the Delhi-Ghaziabad border in a joint operation of Jharkhand and Delhi Police.

Tara, 23, had won the gold medal in the 2009 Eastern Zone championship.
