3 arrested for training Atiq Ahmed's killers to pose as media persons

The Uttar Pradesh police have arrested three men who allegedly trained Atiq Ahmed's killer to poe as reporters.

Atiq Ahmed, a dreaded gangsgter was killed along with his brother Ahraf last week, by three persons posing as reporters. The duo were killed when they were brought for a medical checkup in Prayagraj.

The killers are said to have trailed the arrested gangsters as journalists for an entire day before they shot them in front of television cameras and scores of policemen on Saturday.

The three men who have been arrested are said to have worked for a local news media website. They were detained in UP's Banda for allegedly training the killers to pose as reporters, the police said.

The probe has learnt that the killers had received a crash report in reporting. They then posed as reporters and went about the killing of Atiq and his brother.

It has also been learnt that the killers had tried to eliminate the duo a day earlier. They had planned the killing when the duo were taken to court a day earlier, but had to drop their plans owing to heavy security. The shooters have been identified as Arun Maurya, Sunny Singh and Lavlesh Tiwari. They used Zigana pistols produced by a Turkish firm to eliminate the duo.
