Yogi Adityanath Criticises Opposition for Threatening Impeachment of Truth-Tellers
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath criticised the Opposition for filing impeachment notices against Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar and Allahabad High Court's Justice Shekhar Kumar Yadav. He claimed that those who speak the truth face threats. Addressing the World Hindu Economic Forum 2024, Adityanath accused Congress of hypocrisy, alleging they pressure individuals with impeachment motions while claiming to uphold the Constitution.

Adityanath questioned the crime of expressing opinions like advocating for a Uniform Civil Code. He argued that globally, majority community sentiments are respected, and India should end discrimination between majority and minority communities. He accused Congress of attempting to manipulate the country's system and Constitution.
Opposition's Impeachment Notices
The notice to impeach Dhankhar was criticised by Adityanath, who defended Dhankhar's role as Rajya Sabha Chairman. He suggested that the Opposition is concerned about a farmer's son reaching such a position. Adityanath argued that judges and citizens expressing truth on social or cultural platforms face impeachment threats.
On Friday, several opposition parties submitted a notice in the Rajya Sabha seeking the impeachment of Justice Shekhar Kumar Yadav. This followed his alleged controversial remarks at a Vishwa Hindu Parishad event on December 8. The Supreme Court has requested details from the Allahabad High Court regarding this controversy.
Exposing Truth Suppressors
Adityanath emphasised the need to expose those attempting to suppress truth and disregard India's legacy. He accused the Opposition of denying Lord Ram's existence. He highlighted that Sanatan religion never claimed supremacy or controlled others through force or land claims.
He contrasted Prime Minister Modi's actions with historical rulers, noting Modi's appreciation for workers building the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, unlike rulers who harmed Taj Mahal workers. Adityanath stressed that India cannot become a strong economy by neglecting its heritage.
Economic Growth Under Modi
Adityanath praised India's economic progress under Prime Minister Modi. He noted that after 70 years, India ranked 10th or 11th economically, but within a decade, it became the fifth largest economy. By 2027, India is projected to be the third largest economy.
He also highlighted Uttar Pradesh's economic growth, stating it is now India's second largest economy and aims to reach USD 1 trillion. Adityanath's comments reflect his support for Modi's economic policies and vision for India's future growth.
