This beggar from Gujarat has spent Rs 80 lakh on girls education!
Ahmedabad, Feb 3: 68-year-old beggar, Khimjibhai Prajapati, who has a 'heart of gold' on Tuesday, Feb 2, gifted gold earrings to ten anganwadi girls.
Prajapati, from Mehsana district of Gujarat, is known for giving alms to poor people, to encourage girls education.

Prajapati bought earrings from the money, that he collected by begging outside temples. All ten girls, who got the earrings, were daughters of daily-wage labourers, who live in slums.
The total cost of ten pair of gold earrings came out to be Rs 13,000, but the jeweller decided to give Prajapati a discount of Rs 3,000.
A report published in TOI said that Prajapati has spent around Rs 80 lakh for buying books, school uniform and paying fees of poor girls, in last 13 years.
In Mehasana, the population of girls is very less than boys. Interestingly, PM Narendra Modi and Gujarat Chief Minister Anandiben Patel also hail from Mehsana district of Gujarat.
