Thane Tragedy: Child Loses Life After Resisting Assault; Two Arrested
In a distressing incident emerging from Thane, two brothers, both masons by profession, have been apprehended in connection with the murder of a 12-year-old boy. The grim discovery of the boy's body in a pond in Navi Mumbai has led to a police investigation, culminating in the arrest of the siblings on charges of murder. The incident has sent shockwaves through the local community, highlighting a tragic case of violence against minors.

The investigation revealed a harrowing sequence of events leading to the young boy's death. According to police reports, one of the brothers allegedly attempted to sexually assault the boy after kidnapping him from the Thakurpada area. The situation escalated when the boy attempted to raise an alarm, prompting his assailant to commit the fatal act. The accused, identified as Ramzan Mohammad Kuddus Shaikh, 20, and his brother Azad Mohammad Kuddus Sheikh, 30, are said to have then disposed of the body in a nearby pond.
The victim, who had been missing since March 25 after leaving his home to play, was found with his hands tied and a head injury in a pond near Taloja in Navi Mumbai. A complaint regarding his disappearance was previously lodged at Shil-Daighar police station.
Police Investigation and Arrests
Utilizing technical and intelligence inputs, law enforcement officials were able to identify and arrest the Shaikh brothers for their alleged involvement in this heinous crime. Further details provided by the police indicate that Ramzan Shaikh attempted to engage in unnatural sexual acts with the boy. Upon resistance and outcry from the victim, Shaikh reportedly resorted to violence, using a stone and a piece of cloth to inflict fatal injuries and subsequently strangle the young boy to death. His brother Azad is accused of aiding in concealing the crime by helping dispose of the body.
The investigation into this tragic event is ongoing, with authorities diligently working to uncover all facets of this case. The arrest of the Shaikh brothers marks a significant development in bringing justice for the young victim and his grieving family.
This incident has once again underscored the importance of vigilance and community awareness in safeguarding children against violence and exploitation. As investigations continue, it is hoped that justice will be served for the young victim and his family.
