Maharashtra Shocker: Man sexually abuses baby girl in Thane

Thane, Oct 19: A man here allegedly sexually abused a minor baby girl following which police has launched a manhunt today. The 40-year-old man who allegedly sexually abused a 15-month old girl in Ambernath here is said to be living in the neighbourhood of the victim's, API S D Jadhav of Shivaji Nagar police station said today.

The accused picked up the child yesterday morning and allegedly sexually assaulted the child, he said, adding that the parents came to know about it when the child was bleeding profusely from the private parts.

The child has been sent for medical examination and police has launched a manhunt to nab the man, who is at large from yesterday, he said. A case has been registered against the man under IPC section 376 (rape) and also relevant sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSA) Act, 2012.
