Thalapathy Vijay Likely To Meet Poll Strategist Prashant Kishor To Launch His Own Political Party?

Actor Vijay is reportedly planning to meet with political strategist Prashant Kishore in the near future, as sources close to him have informed Oneindia.

In the 2021 rural local body elections in Tamil Nadu, candidates associated with Vijay's "Vijay Makkal Iyakkam" (People's Movement) participated. As it was a rural election, they contested independently, campaigning under the Vijay Makkal Iyakkam flag and featuring Vijay's photo. They fielded candidates for a total of 169 seats, including District Panchayat Councillor, Panchayat Union Councillor, Panchayat President, and Panchayat Councillor positions.

While the Vijay Makkal Iyakkam did not succeed in winning any district councilor and panchayat union councilor posts, many of their leaders were victorious in the elections for Panchayat President and Panchayat Councillor roles. A total of 77 candidates from Vijay Makkal Iyakkam emerged victorious in this rural local body election, contesting independently.

Notably, actor Vijay recently rewarded students who achieved top marks in their 12th and 10th class exams. He met 1,500 students and presented them with incentives and special gifts during a grand gathering held at a private venue in Chennai. This education fund distribution ceremony was organized by the All India Vijay Makkal Iyakkam.

Furthermore, there are speculations that Vijay is considering transforming his fan base into a group of volunteers and converting his fan club into a political party. Reports suggest that he will engage with his fans more frequently, seek their input, and establish booth committees at the district level. It is believed that he is planning to enter politics in the near future. As part of this plan, actor Vijay is expected to meet with political consultant Prashant Kishore to seek advice on various aspects, including the party's foundation, setting up booth committees, and potential participation in the Lok Sabha elections. A confidential meeting between the two is anticipated to take place soon.
