Tesla Model Y Launched In India: Price, Features, Variants, Colours, Deliveries & More
The wait is finally over! Tesla has officially marked its entry into the Indian automotive market with the launch of the Tesla Model Y, one of the brand's most popular electric SUVs globally.
The much-anticipated debut comes with the opening of Tesla's first showroom at Maker Maxity Mall, Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), Mumbai.

Tesla Model Y Price in India
The Tesla Model Y is available in India in two rear-wheel-drive variants:
- Model Y RWD: ₹59.89 lakh (ex-showroom)
- Model Y Long Range RWD: ₹67.89 lakh (ex-showroom)
On-road prices start at approximately ₹60.99 lakh for the RWD variant and ₹67.07 lakh for the Long Range model. These prices reflect the impact of hefty import duties, as the vehicles are being brought in as Completely Built Units (CBUs) from Tesla's Gigafactory in Shanghai, as per a report in India Today.
Bookings & Deliveries
Indian customers can now book the Tesla Model Y with a token amount of ₹22,220.
Deliveries are scheduled to begin in Q3 of 2025. Initially, availability is limited to Mumbai, Delhi, and Gurugram, with expansion to other cities expected soon.

- Range: 500 km (WLTP cycle)
- Top Speed: 201 km/h
- 0-100 km/h Acceleration: 5.9 seconds
Model Y Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive:
- Range: 622 km (WLTP cycle)
- Top Speed: 201 km/h
- 0-100 km/h Acceleration: 5.6 seconds
Both models come equipped with fast-charging capability, adding up to 238-267 km of range in just 15 minutes depending on the variant.

Tesla offers the Model Y in six attractive colour options in India:
- Stealth Grey: Standard
- Pear White & Diamond Black: ₹95,000 extra
- Glacier Blue: ₹1.25 lakh extra
- Quick Silver & Ultra Red: ₹1.85 lakh extra
Full Self-Driving (FSD) Package in India
Tesla's Full Self-Driving (FSD) package is also available for Indian buyers at an additional cost of ₹6 lakh. While autonomous driving regulations are still evolving in India, this package equips the car for future capabilities.
