The tender process for the Metro Line 10 project, linking Gaimukh in Thane to Shivaji Chowk in Mira-Bhayandar, is expected to begin by December 15. Maharashtra Transport Minister Pratap Sarnaik announced this after a meeting at the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority headquarters. "We are confident that the tender process for this crucial line will start by December 15," he stated.

Project Details and Timeline

The Metro Line 10 project is advancing swiftly, with the route being an entirely elevated corridor stretching 9.718 kilometres. The estimated cost of this significant project is around Rs 8,000 crore, with completion aimed for 2030. This line is vital for improving regional connectivity and is expected to accommodate 4.66 lakh daily passengers by 2031.

Stations and Infrastructure

Five key stations are planned along the route, identified by the Green line colour: Gaimukh Reti Bandar, Chena Gaon, Varsova Gaon, Kashimira, and Miragaon. The depot for maintaining and storing rolling stock is proposed at Mogarpada ML-4 Depot.

Environmental Considerations

The process of acquiring necessary permits from various departments is ongoing. These include forest permits, Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) approvals, mangrove and wildlife protection department permits, and permissions for environmentally sensitive areas.

The Metro Line 10 project holds significant promise for enhancing connectivity in the region. With its strategic planning and infrastructure development, it aims to serve a large number of daily commuters efficiently once completed.
