Telangana: Mentally unsound minor girl sexually assaulted

Hyderabad, Feb 9: A 15-year-old "mentally unsound" girl was allegedly sexually assaulted by a 19-year-old youth in Nalgonda district of Telangana, police said today.

Murali, the accused, and the victim were resident of the same locality in Uttlapalli village in Miryalguda mandal of the district, police said.

According to the complaint filed by the girl's relatives, he allegedly sexually assaulted her around two months ago, said Miryalguda station house officer Bikshapati.

"It is still not clear whether the accused repeatedly sexually assaulted her over the past two months. We need to question him," the SHO said.

A case under relevant sections of Indian Penal Code and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act had been registered and police were looking for the accused, the SHO said. The girl had been was sent for medical examination.
