Telangana CM A Revanth Reddy Cautions Officials Against Pressure in Indiramma Housing Allotments

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has issued a stern warning to officials involved in the Indiramma housing scheme. He emphasised that no official should yield to pressure during the house allotment process. During a District Collectors conference, he provided specific instructions on implementing the 'Bhu Bharati' and Indiramma housing schemes, as well as the summer drinking water programme.

Telangana CM Warns on Indiramma Housing Scheme

Focus on Key Programmes

The Chief Minister urged Collectors to prioritise the successful execution of the Bhu Bharati and Indiramma housing schemes at the grassroots level. He highlighted the importance of these flagship programmes, stressing that they should be implemented with diligence and precision. The Indiramma housing scheme, in particular, is a source of pride for the state.

Revanth Reddy explained that mandal-level committees must review the lists approved by village-level Indiramma house committees. These lists are then forwarded to the district in-charge minister for final approval. Only after this approval will the list of houses be finalised. This process ensures transparency and fairness in house allocation.

Monitoring and Coordination

To ensure effective oversight, Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari was instructed to appoint a Special Officer for each Assembly constituency. This officer will serve as a liaison between various committees, including Indiramma committees, mandal committees, collectors, and the in-charge minister. The Special Officer's role is crucial for regular monitoring of the scheme's implementation.

Senior officers were also advised to focus on constructing Indiramma houses and collaborate with district Collectors to oversee progress. The Chief Minister warned that any pressure or irregularities in house allotment would lead to action against both mandal-level committees and Special Officers if houses are wrongly allocated.

Rational Allocation of Houses

With 3,500 houses allocated per constituency, Revanth Reddy suggested distributing them based on village population to ensure fairness. Rationality in allocation is essential to meet community needs effectively. This approach aims to provide equitable housing opportunities across different areas.

Additionally, attention was drawn to ensuring adequate drinking water supply during summer. The Chief Minister asked Collectors to prioritise this issue, recognising its importance for residents' well-being during hotter months.
