Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has initiated the process of disbursing financial aid to farmers under the Rythu Bandhu scheme. Discussions on agriculture department performance, welfare programs, and the implementation of the pre-poll promise of waiving farm loans up to Rs 2 lakh were also held.

Hyderabad, Dec 11: Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on Monday instructed officials to initiate the process of disbursing financial assistance to farmers under the Rythu Bandhu scheme. During a meeting with ministers and officials, Reddy engaged in detailed discussions regarding the functioning and performance of the Department of Agriculture and its allied wings, as well as the implementation of welfare programs for farmers, as per an official release.

Immediate Disbursement of Financial Aid

Reddy issued directives to officials to commence depositing financial aid under the Rythu Bandhu scheme directly into farmers' accounts, effective from Monday itself. He emphasized the importance of providing assistance without causing any inconvenience to farmers, ensuring that the process is smooth and efficient.

Action Plan for Farm Loan Waiver

In line with the ruling Congress party's pre-poll promise, Reddy instructed officials to formulate an action plan for implementing the farm loan waiver of up to Rs 2 lakh. This initiative aims to alleviate the financial burden faced by farmers and support their agricultural activities.

Revamp of Praja Darbar

Reddy announced the renaming of Praja Darbar, held at Jyoti Rao Phule Praja Bhavan, the chief minister's camp office-cum-official residence, to Praja Vani. This change signifies a renewed focus on public outreach and addressing citizens' concerns.

Timings and Facilities for Praja Vani

Praja Vani will now be conducted from 10 am to 1 pm on Tuesdays and Fridays. To ensure accessibility and convenience, the chief minister directed officials to allow individuals who arrive at Praja Bhavan before 10 am to submit their applications. Additionally, separate queues will be designated for differently-abled individuals and women. Adequate facilities, including clean drinking water, will be provided for the comfort of those attending Praja Vani.
