Tejashwi Yadav Slams BJP for Misusing Power in Kejriwal's Arrest
In a recent development that has stirred the political landscape of India, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav voiced strong criticism against the BJP-led central government following the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. The incident, which unfolded on Thursday night, has sparked a wave of controversy and debate across the nation.

Tejashwi Yadav, the former Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar, accused the BJP and its allies in the NDA of resorting to an "undeclared emergency" by leveraging probe agencies and constitutional bodies to target political rivals. This statement came in light of Kejriwal's arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with an excise policy-linked money laundering case. The arrest occurred shortly after the Delhi High Court declined to offer Kejriwal protection from any coercive actions by the agency.
Yadav, expressing his disapproval on X (formerly known as Twitter), highlighted that this move by the BJP indicates a reluctance to engage with its opponents through democratic means in elections. Instead, it prefers to rely on investigative agencies and constitutional bodies to gain an upper hand. He remarked, "The arrest of Delhi CM Arvind clearly shows that the BJP does not want to face its opponents in the polls in a democratic manner."
A Call for Unity
The RJD leader further criticized the NDA for deviating from the norms of a constitutional and democratic polity, describing the current situation as a state of "undeclared emergency." Yadav's party, which is part of the INDIA bloc alongside Kejriwal's Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has pledged unwavering support for the Delhi government, which was elected by the people. He emphasized the collective resolve of the INDIA bloc, stating, "As we all had declared at INDIA bloc's meetings in Patna and Mumbai, we are not the ones to be cowed down. We always fight back."
This incident not only underscores the intensifying political rivalry in India but also raises questions about the use of state machinery in political battles. The arrest of a sitting Chief Minister on charges linked to policy decisions has brought to light concerns regarding governance, democracy, and the rule of law. As this situation continues to develop, it remains to be seen how it will impact the political dynamics and public opinion in India.
