TDP Will Review Allegations of Bribes to Andhra Officials for Solar Power Contracts
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP), a significant partner of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), is withholding its response to allegations against the Adani Group. The accusations involve bribery for solar power contracts in Andhra Pradesh. Party spokesperson Kommareddy Pattabhiram stated that they need to examine the report thoroughly before making any statements. He mentioned that this review process might take two to three days.

Adani Group Denies Allegations
Gautam Adani, India's second-richest individual, along with seven others, faces charges from the US Department of Justice. They are accused of bribing unidentified officials in Andhra Pradesh and Odisha to secure costly solar power contracts. This could potentially result in profits exceeding USD 2 billion over two decades. The Adani Group has refuted these claims, asserting that the allegations are unfounded and that they adhere to all legal requirements.
Political Reactions and Demands
Andhra Pradesh Congress leader Kolanukonda Sivaji has voiced strong opinions on the matter. He equated Gautam Adani with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and demanded a suo motu investigation by the Supreme Court. Sivaji criticised the NDA government for allegedly transferring public assets to Adani unethically over the past decade. He also urged for action against Andhra Pradesh officials implicated in this alleged scandal.
The unfolding situation has drawn significant attention due to its potential implications on both political and business landscapes in India. As investigations continue, various stakeholders await further developments and responses from involved parties.
