TDP Leader Alleges Conspiracy by Andhra Pradesh CM and Officials

In a significant development, TDP leader K Raghu Ramakrishna Raju has approached the Guntur superintendent of police with a complaint that sheds light on an incident dating back three years. Raju accuses the outgoing Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy, along with several senior officials, of orchestrating a criminal conspiracy against him. This complaint brings to the forefront allegations of torture and an assassination attempt linked to his 2021 arrest during the peak of the Covid second wave.

TDP Leader Accuses AP CM

Raju's allegations are not just against political figures but also implicate senior IPS officers P V Sunil Kumar and P Sitaramanjaneyulu, police officer R Vijaya Paul, and government doctor G Prabhavathi. He claims that a baseless case was lodged against him by the CBCID of the Andhra Pradesh government, leading to his arrest on May 14, 2021, without proper legal procedure. The manner of his arrest and the subsequent treatment he alleges he received highlight serious concerns about law enforcement practices.

Despite having undergone open heart surgery weeks before his arrest, Raju narrates a harrowing tale of abuse and life-threatening threats for criticizing Chief Minister Jagan. His ordeal, however, saw a glimmer of hope when the Supreme Court granted him bail a week later. At that time, Raju was serving as an MP from Narasapuram.

The gravity of these allegations is underscored by Raju's recent political victory, securing a seat from the Undi assembly constituency in West Godavari district on a TDP ticket. His call for justice is not just a personal plea but highlights a broader concern over political vendettas and the misuse of power in Andhra Pradesh. Raju demands that all accused persons be charged and that these alleged criminal offences be addressed promptly to ensure justice is served.

This case opens up several questions about political accountability and the integrity of law enforcement agencies in handling cases involving political figures. With Raju's formal complaint now lodged, it sets the stage for an investigation that could have far-reaching implications for political and legal proceedings in Andhra Pradesh.
