Tata Steel's efforts to promote tribal language appreciated
Jamshedpur, Sept 15: Social activist Dr Tulasi Munda has appreciated private steel major Tata Steel's endeavour in preserving and promoting tribal language 'Ho' language while emphasising the need for them to know and understand their culture.
"It is important for the members of all tribal groups to know and understand their culture. They must live with it and take initiatives to preserve it and pass on to their next generation," Munda, a Padmashri awardee, said.

Speaking at a programme titled “Dostur-Ek Parampara” at Noamundi in West Singhbhum district yesterday, Munda also appreciated Tata Steel's efforts in conducting this programme and contributing towards preserving 'Ho' language, culture and heritage, a Tata Steel release said here today.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Tata Seel General Manager (OMQ) Pankaj Satija said, "Tribal languages and literature are the very essence of the tribes' identity and culture.
Our engagement with our communities is a journey of over 100 years and we have endeavoured to preserve, protect and promote tribal language, music, literature and their overall identity," Satija added. Tata Steel has been working to create awareness on tribal languages and has been organising events like workshops, seminars and learning sessions of Ho language at regular interval, the release said.
