Acid attack
Madurai, Sept 12: Kashmir to Kanyakumari, Arunachal Pradesh to Maharashtra -- India is no more a safe country for girls. Crime against women and children have been increasing day after day.

Now, a shocking news surfaced from Madurai, Tamil Nadu. Two college students faced the cruelty of a man. An unidentified person threw acid on their faces outside their college.

According to sources, the two girls cam out of the college campus during lunch break. Suddenly, one assailant, aged between 28-30, hurled acid on them.

Attacker had targeted one among the 2 girls but her friend too sustained injury

Madurai Police, however, did not have any clue about the attacker. But initial report suggested that the attacker had targeted one among the two girls but her friend too sustained injury.

Both victims are the first-year students at the Government Arts College in Thirumangalam in the Madurai district. The incident took place on Friday, Sept 12.

Soon after the attack on the two girls, both victims were rushed to Thirumangalam Government Hospital. The two girls, both aged 17, hailed from Chinnapoolampatti village near Thirumangalam.

During police interrogation, the two girls were reported to have informed cops that they did not recognise the attacker. Police have been investigating the case and expecting to get a breakthrough in the case soon.
