Tamil Nadu MP Thirumavalavan spits venom against PM Modi; screens BBC's propaganda series

Thirumavalavan dubbed the BBC series on Prime Minister Narendra Modi and screened at his party headquarters.

Chennai, Feb 07: Tamil Nadu MP Thirumavalavan, known for anti-Hindu and anti-BJP views, has spit venom against Prime Minister Narendra Modi by screening the banned BBC's propaganda piece on Godhra incident.

His Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi organised the screening of the BBC documentary at the party's headquarters Ambedkar Thidal in Chennai on Sunday evening. He took the initiative to dub the series into Tamil language.

VCK president Thirumavalavan, Villupuram MP, D Ravi Kumar, and other party leaders were present at the screening. Also, the members of Dravidar Kazhagam, Poovulagin Nabargal and National Award winning filmmaker director Vetrimaran also participated at the screening.

While the controversial series has been screened in Kerala by the CPI-M and Congress in Kerala, the attempts to screens in some campuses were stopped in Tamil Nadu.

After the screening, Thirumavalavan alleged that the Modi rose from state-level leader to a national leader by spreading hate against minorities. "The two-part BBC documentary shows that he didn't reach the top by pursuing ideological politics or fighting for the interests and welfare of the poor and working classes of India. He has grown by planting hate and letting loose violence and claiming that only he has the capacity to do these things. That's how he grew from being a state leader to a national leader. His growth strengthens politics of Sanatana," The Hindu quoted Thirumavalavan as saying.

He then claimed that LK Advani should have become the Prime Minister, but PM Modi and Amit Shah strategised well-planned riots against the minorities that made the RSS pick him over Advani.

The MP wondered what happens if Prime Minister Narendra Modi returns at the PM again in 2024. . "Many are critical of Periyarism, Dravidar Kazhagam and Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam when they should be initiating a debate about Modi's politics. This is a concern. We are not saying that one should not be critical of Periyar or DK or DMK. But, the biggest challenge before us is Modi's politics of hate. How are we going to overcome it?" he stated.

Well, the surprising part of the story is that the gyaan on hate comes from the man known for making hate speech repeatedly against Hindus and Hindu gods.

In a viral clip that went viral earlier, MP Thirumavalavan was caught mocking the Hindu temples in front of the audience stating "if the building has a dome, it is a mosque; if it is tall and straight, it is a church; and if it has dirty idols/dolls, it is a temple".

In another clip, the VCK chief allegedly claimed that upper caste women of going behind men of other castes as 'their' men do not have any 'stuff'.

He further claimed, "Their men... They don't care even if their women have slept with our men for 10 months. They will say, 'It is okay... I will wash it off...You come and live with me...' This is the disgusting politics these disgraceful beings do."

Not just hate speeches, his party members had earlier stabbed a man from Hindu organisation Indu Makkal Katchi. The VCK members attacked the IMK member identified as Manikandan Prabhu in 2020.

Unfortunately, such hate comments will never be showcased or discussed in the mainstream media.
