Tamil Nadu: More rains likely; Chennai roads flooded, anger grips all (See Pics)
Chennai, Nov 16: Chennai and many other places across Tamil Nadu have been flooded as the state continued to witness monsoon fury. At least 59 people died when heavy rains lashed at various parts of the state under the influence of a well marked low pressure area over Bay of Bengal.
India Meteorological Department (MeT Department) on Monday, Nov 16 predicted that there will be no respite from heavy rains. More rains are expected for next 48-72 hours.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa issued statement citing the growing anger among people. The AIADMK supremo was quoted as saying, "When such damages occur, it is the hallmark of a good government to ensure that quick relief and rehabilitation measures are undertaken and in that sense relief work is on in affected districts on a war footing."
