A bomb detonated in a market located in a northern Syrian city under the control of pro-Turkish forces early Sunday, resulting in the deaths of eight individuals and injuring over 20 others, according to a report from a war monitoring group.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that "a car bomb exploded amid a bustling market" in Azaz, Aleppo province, leading to the deaths of at least eight people and the injury of 23 others, although these numbers are subject to change, reported Arab News.

The explosion caused significant damage and triggered a fire, prompting the dispatch of ambulances and rescue teams to the scene. According to a Reuters report citing residents and rescuers, the initial death toll stood at seven, with 30 individuals wounded.
The explosion occurred during the busy late-night shopping period following the breaking of the fast during the Muslim month of Ramadan. Yaseen Shalabi, who was shopping with his family near the site of the explosion, remarked on the heavy congestion of shoppers at that time, reported Arab News.
Notably, no group immediately claimed responsibility for the attack. The Arab-populated town, governed by Syrian rebel factions supported by Turkey and opposed to President Bashar al-Assad, has experienced relative calm since a car bombing struck over two years ago.
However, main towns in the northwestern border region have been frequently targeted by bombings in densely populated civilian areas in recent years. According to civil defence forces, at least thirty individuals were wounded, with some in critical condition being transferred to local hospitals, as reported by local media outlets.
The conflict in Syria originated in 2011 when the government suppressed peaceful protests, escalating into a devastating war involving jihadists and foreign military interventions. The prolonged conflict has resulted in over 507,000 casualties, displaced millions, and caused severe damage to the country's infrastructure and economy.
Turkey has launched multiple military operations in Syria, primarily targeting Kurdish militants associated with the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK), which has been engaged in a protracted insurgency against the Turkish government. Turkish troops and their Syrian allies control significant portions of the border region, including key cities and towns like Azaz, as per reports.
