Switzerland has strongest laws on money laundering, says visiting President
Swiss Confederation President, Doris Leuthard, who is on a three-day visit to India, issued a joint statement with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Switzerland government on Thursday stated that the country would be transparent and cooperative in financial transactions as the country has the strongest laws on money laundering.

At the outset , PM Modi thanked Switzerland for supporting India's membership in Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR) and country's bid for NSG membership.''
He said, ''Madam President you are visiting India when we are celebrating 70 yrs of Independence and 70 years of Indo-Swiss Treaty of Friendship and Establishment.''
President, Doris Leuthard said, ''We have one of the strongest laws on money laundering & we would be happy if other countries follow Switzerland.''
She assured that 'Switzerland is and will be an important financial place and have all interest to be transparent,cooperative and be a good reliable partner.

Further she assured interest in programmes announced by BJP government such as Skill India, Digital India, Clean India, Startup India and Smart cities.
PM Modi was glad that Switzerland has shown interest for cooperation in indigenous medical science Ayurveda.
