CBI Files Closure Reports in Sushant Singh Rajput Cases Filed by His Father and Rhea Chakraborty

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has submitted two closure reports concerning the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. One report addresses the abetment to suicide case filed by Rajput's father, K K Singh, while the other pertains to allegations made by Rhea Chakraborty against Rajput's sisters. These reports were filed in special courts in Patna and Mumbai, respectively.

CBI Closure Reports on Sushant Singh Rajput Cases

The courts will now decide whether to accept these reports or request further investigation. Chakraborty's lawyer, Satish Maneshinde, expressed gratitude towards the CBI for their comprehensive investigation into every aspect of the case. "We are grateful to the CBI for having thoroughly investigated every aspect of the case from all angles and closed the case," he stated.

Closure Reports Filed in Two Cities

Rajput was discovered hanging in his Bandra apartment in Mumbai on June 14, 2020, at the age of 34. The postmortem conducted at Cooper Hospital concluded that asphyxia was the cause of death. The CBI investigated two cases: one filed by K K Singh accusing Chakraborty of abetment to suicide and financial misconduct, and another by Chakraborty against Rajput's sisters regarding medication prescriptions.

Chakraborty alleged that Rajput died five days after taking medicines prescribed based on a false prescription from a Delhi doctor. However, based on expert opinions, crime scene analysis, witness statements, and forensic reports, the CBI found no evidence supporting claims that anyone drove Rajput to suicide.

Expert Opinions and Investigations

The CBI's final reports aim to conclude years of conspiracy theories surrounding Rajput's death. Forensic experts from AIIMS provided medico-legal opinions dismissing poisoning and strangulation claims. The agency recorded statements from Chakraborty and others close to Rajput while collecting his medical records.

Maneshinde criticized the false narratives spread through social media and electronic media during the pandemic when people were glued to screens due to limited activities. He highlighted how innocent individuals were unjustly targeted by media and investigative authorities.

Impact on Rhea Chakraborty

Rhea Chakraborty faced significant challenges during this period, including spending 27 days in jail before being granted bail. Her lawyer emphasized the unnecessary hardships she endured due to widespread misinformation and media scrutiny.

The CBI's decision to file closure reports marks a significant step in resolving the controversies surrounding Sushant Singh Rajput's tragic death. The focus now shifts to how the courts will respond to these findings and whether any further investigations will be deemed necessary.
