Supreme Court Recruitment 2025: Law Clerks-cum-Research Associates Posts Up For Grabs, Earn Rs 80,000 Monthly

The Supreme Court of India has announced a recruitment drive for 90 positions of Law Clerk-cum-Research Associate on a short-term contractual basis, according to a Times Now report. Interested candidates can apply online through the Supreme Court's official website, sci.gov.in.

The registration process will begin on January 14 and will close on February 7. A written examination is scheduled to be conducted on March 9.

The official notification states:

"Online applications are invited in terms of 'Scheme of Engaging Law Clerks-cum-Research Associates on Short-Term Contractual Assignment in the Supreme Court of India- January 2024' for preparation of a panel of approximately 90 candidates for engagement as Law Clerk-cum-Research Associates in the Supreme Court of India purely on contractual assignment initially on a consolidated remuneration of ₹80,000/- per month for the assignment term 2025-2026."

Eligibility, Age Limit, Application Fee, and Selection Process

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates must meet the following requirements:

A Bachelor's Degree in Law (LL.B) or an Integrated Law degree from a recognised institution.
The institution must be recognised by the Bar Council of India for enrolment as an Advocate.
Demonstrated research and analytical skills.
Strong writing abilities and proficiency in computer applications.
Familiarity with online research tools such as e-SCR, Manupatra, SCC Online, LexisNexis, and Westlaw.

Age Limit:

Applicants must be between 20 and 32 years old as of 2 February 2025.

Application Fee:

The application fee is Rs 500, which must be paid online through the UCO Bank Payment Gateway. Additional bank charges may apply. Please note that no other payment methods or postal applications will be accepted.

Selection Process:

The selection process comprises three stages:

Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
Subjective Written Examination
Interview

The first two phases will be conducted on the same day in two sessions at 23 centres across India.
