Supreme Court Order Reveals BJP's Nefarious Designs to Disenfranchise Voters in Bihar

Tejashwi Yadav asserts that the Supreme Court's directive to the Election Commission of India highlights the BJP's efforts to disenfranchise voters in Bihar. This ruling is seen as a significant win for democracy and transparency in electoral processes.

RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav has claimed that the Supreme Court's directive to the Election Commission of India (ECI) to disclose details of 65 lakh removed names from Bihar's voter list has exposed the BJP and its allies. He stated that this order is a triumph for the Constitution, democracy, and the unity of opposition parties in Bihar.

Tejashwi Yadav asserts that the Supreme Court's directive to the Election Commission of India highlights the BJP's efforts to disenfranchise voters in Bihar. This ruling is seen as a significant win for democracy and transparency in electoral processes.

The Supreme Court's interim order came as a response to pleas challenging the ECI's June 24 decision to conduct a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Bihar. The court instructed the ECI to provide reasons for non-inclusion of names to ensure transparency. This decision was made by a bench comprising Justices Surya Kant and Joymalya Bagchi.

Opposition's Fight for Justice

Yadav emphasised that all opposition parties have been fighting for justice regarding the SIR. Their efforts spanned from Parliament to the streets and finally to the Supreme Court. "The demands we consistently raised have now been endorsed by the SC," he said, adding that this decision will fortify democracy and the Constitution.

Yadav accused the BJP of lacking faith in democratic processes. He alleged that after the ECI decided on the SIR, letters were sent to political leaders, excluding those from BJP. He claimed that his party has become technologically advanced in response to these challenges.

Details of Deleted Voters

The ECI will now provide booth-wise information about over 65 lakh voters whose names were removed. This includes data on deceased voters, relocated individuals, and those mistakenly added or deleted under "traceless" categories, according to Yadav.

Yadav criticised the ECI for dishonesty and concealment, stating that their true functioning has been revealed. "We are keeping a close watch on the activities of the ECI officials," he said, vowing to continue exposing any wrongdoing.

Support from INDIA Bloc Leaders

Yadav expressed gratitude towards INDIA bloc leaders like Rahul Gandhi, Mamata Banerjee, and others for opposing the SIR unitedly. He mentioned how people are aware of BJP leaders having multiple voter ID cards while the ECI remained silent.

"I was ridiculed and they NDA abused me for my stand," Yadav said, criticising Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar for not speaking up. He vowed not to let NDA leaders disenfranchise voters in Bihar.

NDA's Political Strategy

Yadav asserted that NDA's strategy to weaken democracy was exposed when deceased voters appeared before the SC during a hearing on SIR. He claimed that media trials involved planted news items branding people as infiltrators.

"Once the booth-wise list is made public, the full truth will come out," Yadav stated, alleging that Gujarat voters are being registered in Bihar. He mentioned BJP's Bhikhubhai Dalsaniya voting in both Gujarat and Bihar.

From August 17, Rahul Gandhi and other INDIA bloc leaders will launch a "Voter Rights Yatra" from Rohtas. This initiative aims to raise awareness about voter rights and reveal truths about electoral processes.

The RJD leader believes NDA will face defeat in upcoming elections due to their misuse of EC for political gains. He highlighted how Bihari unity is determined to protect democracy against such tactics.
