Rameswaram: Sri Lankan Navy apprehends 10 Indian fishermen, one boat
The Sri Lankan Navy has apprehended ten Indian fishermen and one boat from Rameswaram north of Delft Island in the sea area.

The fishermen belonging to Tamil Nadu were held by the Lankan Navy when they were fishing in the sea area north of Delft Island.
Recently, Tamil Nadu chief minister K. Palanisamy had urged the Centre to take immediate steps to secure the release of 54 Indian fishermen apprehended by Sri Lanka.
140 fishing boats are also in Sri Lanka's custody and this is fuelling unrest among the fisherfolk.
Instances of Indian fishermen being arrested by the Sri Lankan Navy have been on the rise in recent times.
