Haryana News: Life of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji Is an Inspiration for Entire Humanity: CM Nayab Singh Saini

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini announced the establishment of a Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Study Chair at Chaudhary Devi Lal University to promote research on the Guru's teachings. This initiative coincides with events commemorating the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.

Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Study Chair to Be Established at Chaudhary Devi Lal University

Haryana Chief Minister Sh. Nayab Singh Saini emphasized that the life and teachings of Hind Ki Chadar, Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, serve as a timeless inspiration for all of humanity. Speaking at a national seminar on "Life and Philosophy of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji" at Chaudhary Devi Lal University, Sirsa, the Chief Minister highlighted the Guru's supreme sacrifice in the 17th century as one of the most profound acts of resistance against injustice and tyranny in human history.

The event, attended by saints, scholars, and researchers from across India, also featured an exhibition of student-created paintings depicting the lives of the Sikh Gurus.

In a significant announcement, CM Saini declared the establishment of a Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Study Chair at Chaudhary Devi Lal University. This initiative will enable students and scholars to conduct in-depth research on the Guru's life, philosophy, and teachings. The Chief Minister also informed that a series of events commemorating the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji began on November 1 and will continue until November 25. The main celebration will be held in Kurukshetra. Four religious processions (yatras) are planned, the first of which was flagged off from Rori in Sirsa district.

CM Saini reflected on the Guru's message, stating, "Religion is not just about protecting one's own faith, but about upholding the moral conscience of the entire world." He emphasized that in the 21st century, India's strength lies not merely in technological advancement but in its moral values, spiritual resolve, and courage. He added that the teachings of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji and his four martyred disciples offer guidance to today's youth facing mental stress and fierce competition.

Preserving Sikh Heritage

The Chief Minister reiterated the Haryana Government's commitment to preserving Sikh heritage. Key initiatives include:

• Government jobs for 121 Sikh families affected by the 1984 riots.
• Establishment of the Haryana Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee in December 2022.
• Transfer of 70 kanals of land to Gurdwara Sri Chilla Sahib in Sirsa.
• Naming of new institutions:
• Hind Ki Chadar Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Singh Ji Medical College in Yamunanagar
• Baba Fateh Singh Ji College in Assandh
• Mata Gujri VLDA College in Lakhnaur Sahib
• Foundation stone laid for Baba Banda Singh Bahadur Memorial at Lohgarh.

To promote pilgrimages to historic Sikh shrines like Sri Hazur Sahib, Sri Nankana Sahib, Sri Hemkunt Sahib, and Sri Patna Sahib, the state has launched the Swarn Jayanti Guru Darshan Yatra Yojana.

National Recognition of Sikh Legacy

CM Saini noted that over the past 11 years, Sikh heritage has received unprecedented national recognition-from the 550th birth anniversary of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji to the current 350th martyrdom year of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. He concluded with a heartfelt prayer for peace, harmony, and spiritual strength in the lives of all, inspired by the grace of Guru Sahib. The event was graced by dignitaries including Chaudhary Devi Lal University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Vijay Kumar, CM's OSD Dr. Prabhleen Singh, OSD Sh. Raj Nehru, Prof. Jagdeep Singh, and Prof. Kuldeep Singh Agnihotri.
