Samajwadi Party Delegation Meets Family of Youth Shot Dead in Uttar Pradesh School

An 18-year-old student was allegedly shot dead at a private school, prompting a visit from the Samajwadi Party delegation to the victim's family. The incident took place on Tuesday afternoon when Hemant Singh was attending his class 12th examination at Gyandeep Public School in Khushalnagar, Shivpur. He was fatally shot in the school's parking area, as confirmed by DCP Varuna Zone Pramod Kumar.

SP Delegation Visits Family of Shooting Victim

According to the Samajwadi Party delegation, Singh's family claims that only one of the three attackers has been apprehended, while two remain free. However, police previously stated that all three suspects, including school manager Ravi Singh, were arrested. The family also alleges that they were pressured by an additional commissioner of police to withdraw their complaint against two accused individuals, Shashank and Kishan.

Allegations and Investigations

Lal Bihari Yadav, Leader of Opposition in the UP Legislative Council and part of the delegation, expressed dissatisfaction with the police response. "Even after my call, the police commissioner of Varanasi did not come to meet me. This is a clear case of violation of privilege. I will go to Lucknow and register a case of privilege against him," he stated. Yadav plans to present a detailed report on the incident to Samajwadi Party's national president, Akhilesh Yadav.

The investigation revealed that school manager Ravi Singh, Hemant Singh, and two others were seen heading towards the room where the shooting occurred. DCP Pramod Kumar mentioned that initial findings suggest a personal dispute might have led to the incident. The investigation is ongoing to uncover further details.
