Sonia Gandhi, Rahul to visit Muzaffarnagar to assess the situation
"Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Vice President Rahul Gandhi will visit Muzaffarnagar next week to meet the riot-hit people and assess the situation there", Congress General Secretary and in-charge of party affairs in the state, Madhusudan Mistry told reporters.
Mistry demanded strict action be taken against those who were behind the riots and said that those instigating violence will not go scott free, whether they are political party workers or public servants.
He even made a comment targeting BJP saying that workers of the political party from Gujarat were behind the riots.
Demanding setting up of relief camps for riot-hit people, he said if the state government did not know how to run them, they could be given tips on it.
Muzzafarnagar is just returning back to normalcy as the curfew was lifted in Thursday following the communal riots that shook the town.
