Somnath Bharti acting like professional criminal: Delhi police

New Delhi, Sept 25: Ex-law minister and AAP member Somnath Bharti has been evading the law quite some time now after his estranged wife charged him with attempt to murder and dowry harassment.

"After the Delhi High Court rejected his anticipatory bail plea on Tuesday, he has been travelling to several locations and changing his mobile number for every one of them," said joint commissioner of police (southwestern range).

He further said,"The Delhi high court rejected Somnath Bharti's anticipatory bail plea on Tuesday morning and since then he has been evading arrest. By frequently changing his location and mobile phones, Bharti is behaving more like a professional criminal."

He further added,"Bharti first hid in west Delhi and then moved to trans-Yamuna areas, east of the city. He is believed to have left for Agra late on Wednesday night. "Bharti is not staying at any of the locations for more than eight to ten hours. Before moving, he changes his mobile number and vehicle."

INvestigators, meanwhile, have questioned Bharti's brother abd PA since he went missing on September 22. Bharti has now approached the Supreme Court.

Previously, Bharti was booked under 16 IPC section for reportedly misbehaving with a number of African women during a suspected prostitution and drug racket.
