'Skanda' Movie Review: What's Good, What's Bad; Find It Out From Viewers' Words

Ram Pothineni and Sreeleela-starrer 'Skanda' has hit the screens on Thursday. The movie is written and directed by Boyapati Sreenu.

Produced by Srinivasaa Chitturi under Srinivasaa Silver Screen in collaboration with Zee Studios, the film also has Saiee Manjrekar, Prince Cecil, Sharath Lohithaswa, Babloo Prithiveeraj and others in the cast.

The film has S Thaman's music, Santosh Detake's cinematography and Tammiraju's editing.

Review
In the film 'Skanda', the portrayal of hero Ram in a powerful persona is a success, especially in the second half and the compelling climax. However, the movie overall lacks refinement, showcasing typical comedy and less impressive action, except for a noteworthy climax.

Boyapati's preference for unexpected twists rather than focusing on dramatic moments doesn't quite achieve the desired impact, leaving the audience yearning for a more cohesive narrative. Thaman's music and the video songs disappoint, with only "gandarabai" standing out.

Fortunately, the film avoids derogatory representations of women and presents a bold depiction of Ram. It gains some redemption in the second half by allowing scenes to breathe, revealing glimpses of brilliance in an otherwise average endeavor. The action, although lacking emotional depth, manages to somewhat salvage the movie.

Venky Reviews: #Skanda A Typical Boyapati Mass Commercial Entertainer that has an interesting initial set up and a few good mass blocks but the rest falters with over the top scenes that go off track. Ram carries the mass avatar well and dances well. Songs and BGM are a big let down.
Ram is energetic whenever he is on screen but surprisingly his screen time is less and he's missing for atleast 45 minutes of the movie. Boyapati succeeds partially in setting up a few good blocks but the rest just feel like a rehash of his previous movies coupled with bad song placement. #Skanda
