Siddaramaiah Re-Appoints Slain BJP Leader Praveen Nettaru’s Wife

Days after Nutan Kumari, the wife of slain BJP leader Praveen Nettaru was terminated from her job, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has re-appointed her.

This comes amidst allegations that she was terminated from the post as she had been offered a temporary job on compassionate basis.

"After a new government comes in, it is a natural process to dismiss the temporary employees who were appointed by the previous government from the government service," Siddaramaiah said in a tweet in Kannada.

"Not only Praveen Nettaru's wife, more than 150 contract workers have already been dismissed from service. There is no government interference in this," Siddaramaiah also said.

"Considering this as a special case, Kumari will be re-appointed on humanitarian grounds," he also said.

Soon after his death, Nutan was appointed on a contract basic on humanitarian grounds.

The BJP government in Karnataka had on September 22 2022 appointed her as senior r assistant (Group C) at the office of the then Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Later on her request she was posted to the Dakshina Kannada deputy commissioner's office and was reported to duty on October 14 last year.
