Siddaramaiah government wears corruption like a badge of honour: Amit Shah

The BJP national president completed his three-day visit to Bengaluru on Monday.

On the last day of his visit to Bengaluru, BJP National President Amit Shah accused the Congress government in the state of being corrupt and misleading the people on central government funds. Shah took potshots at Siddaramaiah's government which has failed 'to act even after IT raids against its minister'.

"I have never seen a more corrupt government than Siddaramaiah's. No resignation is sought, no action is taken whatsoever. Most parties are humiliated when allegations of corruption are made but the Siddaramaiah government seems to treat it like a medal of honour and pin it to their chest," Amit Shah attacked the Congress. He was addressing the press on the last day of his three-day visit to Bengaluru.

When asked about corruption allegations against the BJP's leaders in Kerala, Amit Shah said that the party had cracked the whip on those involved and suspended them immediately. "BJP has always and will always act upon any corrupt practices. We suspended those involved and ordered a probe but what has Siddaramaiah done. Has the Congress taken such a stand?" he asked.

"Sangh workers made targets of political killings"

Shah accused the Congress government of targeting Sangh and BJP workers in the state and eliminating them for political gains. "In the last four years, some 30 workers of the Sangh have been killed and attacked. What kind of appeasement politics is this? Will the government answer why it let off jailed PFI activists and revoked all cases against them?" he asked.

Shah reiterated that lakhs of crores have been sanctioned under various schemes and projects from the central government but none of the benefits are reaching the people. "The Congress is attempting to build a fake narrative of the union government neglecting Karnataka. The centre has revised 14th finance commission allocation to Karnataka by three times. The allocation is Rs 1.86 lakh crore, 300 per cent more than the 13th commission. But where is all the money going?" he asked.

In his capacity as the BJP's national President Amit Shah also spoke on the Gorakhpur tragedy and claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had expressed condolence already. "Tweet is not the only way to express condolence or sadness. The Prime Minister has already reacted to the unfortunate incident. Once the situation is assessed, next course of action will be decided," he said.

Amit Shah's visit and review of the BJP in Karnataka has given the state unit a direction. The BJP leaders in the state are now expected to launch massive protests, demonstrations against the Congress.
