Shiv Sena Affirms Commitment to Grassroots Workers Under Eknath Shinde's Leadership

Eknath Shinde, Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister, emphasised Shiv Sena's dedication to grassroots workers. He welcomed new members from diverse communities and reaffirmed the party's focus on welfare and respect for its workers.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has affirmed the Shiv Sena's unwavering support for its grassroots workers. On Tuesday, several leaders and members from various political parties, social organisations, and communities joined the Shiv Sena at Shinde's official Muktagiri residence in Mumbai.

Among those who joined the ruling party were Sudhakar Bhalerao, a former Nationalist Congress Party SP MLA and spokesperson, and representatives of the Koli community from Worli Koliwada in Mumbai. Local leaders from Latur, Beed, Pune, Baramati, Shrirampur, Deolali, Ulhasnagar, Sangli, Tasgaon, Kolhapur, and Chandgad also became part of the Shiv Sena.

Shiv Sena's Commitment to Grassroots

Shinde emphasised that the Shiv Sena is a party that values its workers and respects those who perform well. He stated that the party is dedicated to the welfare of common people, backward sections, and grassroots workers. "Even as the state chief minister, I worked as a party worker and continue to do so. This party belongs to workers, not to any single individual," Shinde said.

The deputy chief minister highlighted that thousands of workers are joining the party across Maharashtra daily. This influx reflects growing public trust in the Shiv Sena's leadership and ideology. Shinde assured that regions like Koliwada would receive development priority and that new members would find strong support within the party.

Impact on Political Landscape

Bhalerao's move to join Shiv Sena with his supporters is perceived as a setback for the NCP SP in Latur district ahead of local body elections. Bhalerao previously represented the reserved Udgir constituency as a BJP MLA from 2009 to 2019 but was denied a ticket in 2019. He then joined Sharad Pawar's NCP SP for the 2024 assembly polls but suffered a significant defeat.

Bhalerao is also known as the founder president of Janadhar Morcha, a state-level organisation. Through his Matang Shakti movement, he established an extensive network of activists. His switch to Shiv Sena could influence political dynamics in Latur district.

Other notable figures who joined include Mayuresh Argade, president of Maharashtra Brahmin Sabha Pune; Datta Desai from Maratha Swayamsevak Sangh; Kisan Congress leader Sangram Chavan; Shabari Mata Sanghatana president Latika Gopale; and NCP's Nanasahab Burade from Yeola.

The Shiv Sena continues to expand its reach by welcoming diverse leaders into its fold. This strategy aims to strengthen its position ahead of upcoming elections while reinforcing its commitment to grassroots development.
