Sharad Pawar Engages in Meetings with Ajit Pawar's Sons on NCP Future and Educational Projects

Sharad Pawar conducted two meetings with Ajit Pawar's sons, Parth and Jay, discussing potential NCP faction mergers and familiarising them with Vidya Pratishthan's operations.

Sharad Pawar, the NCP SP chief, held two meetings in Baramati with Parth and Jay, sons of the late Maharashtra deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar. One meeting was private, involving only family members, while the other included trustees of Vidya Pratishthan. Sharad Pawar chaired the latter as the founder president. The agenda of the family meeting remains undisclosed.

The Vidya Pratishthan meeting aimed to introduce Parth and Jay to the institution's operations. A trustee mentioned that Sharad Pawar called this meeting to acquaint them with the educational projects managed by the Pawar family. Ajit Pawar was previously a trustee of this institution.

Vidya Pratishthan's Role and Future Plans

The meeting at Vidya Pratishthan focused on its various projects. Jay and Parth were invited to understand these initiatives better. The trustee clarified that there was no immediate plan to induct them as trustees. However, Sharad Pawar would consult with family members before making any decisions regarding new appointments to the governing body.

Jay had been a special invitee to the board when Ajit Pawar was alive. Parth's invitation aimed to familiarise him with the institute's functioning. Deputy CM Sunetra Pawar is also part of the trustee body, but discussions about Ajit Pawar's memorial were not on this meeting's agenda.

Family Discussions and Future Decisions

The issue of Ajit Pawar's memorial will be addressed in future discussions within the family, as per a trustee's statement. Earlier reports about a memorial at Vidya Pratishthan were denied by Sharad Pawar. The late Ajit Pawar passed away in a plane crash on January 28 in Baramati, Pune district.

Following Ajit's death, his wife Sunetra took oath as deputy CM three days later. Discussions about merging NCP factions were reportedly advanced, with February 12 set as a potential date for announcing reunification plans, according to party leaders.
