A video of a district collector in Madhya Pradesh questioning a drivers social standing during a meeting has gone viral, sparking outrage on social media. The collector later apologized for his remark.

In a recent incident that has sparked controversy, a video of Shajapur district collector in Madhya Pradesh, Kishor Kanyal, questioning the aukat (status) of a truck driver during a meeting on Tuesday surfaced on social media. The collector later expressed regret over the use of the word.

Collector Loses Cool During Meeting

Kishor Kanyal

The incident occurred during a meeting between the collector and representatives of a drivers' union. In the video clip, Kanyal can be seen asking drivers and others not to take the law into their own hands when a representative of the drivers requested him to speak politely.

'Kya Karoge Tum, Kya Aukat Hai Tumhari?'

In response to the driver's request, Kanyal lost his composure and asked the concerned person, "Kya Karoge Tum, Kya Aukat Hai Tumhari?" (What will you do? What is your status?). The driver replied that they were fighting this battle precisely because they lacked any social standing.

Police Intervenes

Following the heated exchange, a policeman intervened and whisked away the driver from the spot.

Collector Expresses Regret

In an attempt to clarify his position, Kanyal later posted a video. He explained that the meeting was called to address the concerns of truck and bus drivers who had staged protests the previous day. The purpose of the meeting was to encourage them to raise their issues democratically, but one individual was allegedly trying to incite others and threaten to intensify the agitation, prompting Kanyal to use the words in question. He expressed regret if anyone was hurt by his remarks.

Upholding Law and Order

Despite his apology, Kanyal emphasized that nobody would be allowed to take the law into their own hands, reiterating the importance of maintaining law and order.
