Setback for Shahrukh Khan, other actors; Bollywood celebs likely to be stripped of extra security

Mumbai, June 10: Many Bollywood celebrities are provided heavy security following several reports regarding life threat from underworld dons. Now, many of them are likely to be stripped of extra security, claimed media report.

An audit was reported to have concluded that Bollywood actors and other celebs are not facing imminent threat. Hence, Mumbai Crime Branch recommended a downgradation of the security cover being provided to the celebs, said media reports.

Earlier it was reported that Bollywood superstar Shahrukh Khan and other celebrities faced life threat from underworld don Ravi Pujari.

But, now the actors are not facing any threat at present as Pujari's aides in Mumbai have been nabbed, claimed Mumbai Police. Sources also claimed that chances of Bollywood stars being attacked now is quite low.

However, Mumbai Crime Branch is yet to take the final call as no final decision has been taken as the proposal is yet to be approved by the police commissioner.

The list of the celebs, who were given special security, includes Shahrukh Khan, director-choreographer Farah Khan, Salman Khan, Vidhu Vinod Chopra, Mahesh Bhatt and many others.

The stars, according to media reports, were the targets of underworld gangster Ravi Pujari. Many celebrities reportedly had also got threat calls from the gang's members in the last few months.
