Shaheedi Sabha: Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Announces Special Arrangements at Fatehgarh Sahib

The Punjab government outlines comprehensive arrangements for Fatehgarh Sahib Shaheedi Sabha, covering health services, transport and traffic, security, cleanliness and crowd management. Integrated systems, medical facilities, a shuttle network and surveillance aim to ensure a safe, orderly event for domestic and international visitors.

Fatehgarh Sahib is preparing for a massive inflow of devotees for the Shaheedi Sabha, held to honour Baba Zorawar Singh, Baba Fateh Singh and Mata Gujri Ji. The Punjab government has announced large-scale arrangements for health, transport, security and cleanliness so that lakhs of visitors from India and abroad do not face avoidable hardship during the event.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said that every major civic service is being strengthened for the gathering. Health care, traffic movement, law and order, sanitation and communication will run on a coordinated plan. An integrated control system, extra buses, medical support and real-time traffic inputs are being lined up to deal with the expected rush.

Health services and facilities for Fatehgarh Sahib Shaheedi Sabha

Health support has been placed at the top of the plan. The Punjab government is setting up 20 Aam Aadmi Clinics and 5 dispensaries near the main points of the Fatehgarh Sahib Shaheedi Sabha, where specialist doctors and full medical teams will remain on duty. These centres will stock required medicines, oxygen and key equipment, with 60 ambulances and fire brigade vehicles on standby.

Bhagwant Singh Mann said that serving the sangat is the biggest responsibility of the government. The Punjab government will provide full support to the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee if any additional requirement arises during the Fatehgarh Sahib Shaheedi Sabha. Officials indicated that funds, staff or infrastructure support could be extended when requested.

On the wider religious context, the Chief Minister referred to the decision to declare the walled city area of Amritsar, Talwandi Sabo and Sri Anandpur Sahib as sacred cities. He noted that this step addresses a long-pending demand of Sikhs living across the world. The announcement was made on the 350th martyrdom day of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji.

Bhagwant Singh Mann also commented on air quality levels while addressing the media. Comparing figures, the Chief Minister said Punjab’s Air Quality Index stands between 70 and 110, whereas Delhi’s AQI has reached around 500. He criticised the focus on renaming schemes instead of structural reforms, referring to changes around the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act. Mann said, “Changing names does not change the system; real change comes from taking concrete decisions for public welfare.” Chief Secretary K.A.P. Sinha and Special DGP Law and Order Arpit Shukla were present at the briefing.
