Punjab: Schools-both government and private-are expected to remain closed due to heavy rain warnings. District administrations are issuing updates to parents and students.

Himachal Pradesh: In rain-hit districts such as Kangra, Mandi, and Sirmaur, schools will stay shut. Other areas, including Una and Shimla, may also declare closures depending on local advisories.

Uttarakhand and Jammu & Kashmir: Several districts have announced school holidays as a precaution against flooding and landslides.

Gurugram: Following Monday's downpour of over 100 mm, the district administration directed all schools to switch to online classes on September 2. This move ensures minimal disruption to students' studies while keeping them safe at home.

Kerala's Extended Onam Break

In Kerala, the situation is different. Schools are already closed for the 10-day Onam holiday, which runs until September 7. Classes will resume on September 8.
