Notably, both schools and banks in certain areas are set to observe holidays, aligning with local celebrations and observances. In anticipation of Christmas, educational institutions are adjusting their schedules, with vacations commencing next week. The duration of these breaks varies, ranging from a single day to a full week, depending on the discretion of the respective school management boards.

The holiday spirit is already tangible as schools and banks in specific locales have announced closures on the upcoming dates of December 18 and 19, before the official start of the Christmas break. Holidays Mark Special Observances

Meghalaya is set to honor the death anniversary of U Soso Tham, a revered figure, with a state-wide public holiday on December 18. This day of remembrance extends to both educational institutions and banks, allowing the community to pay their respects collectively. Following closely, Goa will celebrate its Liberation Day on December 19. This significant day in Goa's history will see schools closing their doors, and as per the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) schedule, banks in the capital city of Panaji will also not operate.
