School Holiday: Andhra Pradesh Schools To Stay Closed From Nov 28-30 Due To Heavy Rains
Students in Andhra Pradesh are set to get a 3-day break from school and college starting tomorrow, as the state braces for the impact of a cyclone in the Bay of Bengal. According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), the cyclone is expected to bring heavy rainfall and strong winds to the region, particularly affecting the coastal areas and Rayalaseema.
The IMD has confirmed that the cyclone's effects will be felt in Andhra Pradesh on November 28, 29, and 30, prompting authorities to declare holidays for schools and colleges in the affected areas. The government has instructed schools in rain-affected zones to remain closed, ensuring the safety of students and staff.

The weather department reported that strong winds, blowing at speeds of 40 to 50 kilometers per hour, are already being experienced in the Bay of Bengal. As the cyclone intensifies, wind speeds are expected to increase, further exacerbating the risk of heavy rainfall and storms. Authorities have warned that traveling to school during such conditions could be hazardous for students.
The cyclone's arrival coincides with the holiday season, as schools and colleges will be closed from Thursday, November 28, through Saturday, November 30. The IMD has also issued a precautionary advisory for fishermen, advising them not to venture into the sea, and for farmers involved in rice harvesting to take necessary precautions.
This decision to close schools and colleges aligns with the ongoing safety measures and the weather department's forecast. As the storm continues to approach, local residents and authorities have been urged to remain vigilant and follow safety guidelines.
